Bringing Ideas to Life Student Design Thinking Projects

Smart Bin

Ekya learners created an innovative ‘smart bin’ system that incentivizes individuals to properly segregate waste by rewarding them for disposing of it in the correct bins.

Garbage Scanner

As part of this initiative, Ekya learners developed a cutting-edge scanner that scans garbage and provides citizens with guidance on the correct bin for disposal.

Dust App

Ekya learners created a user-friendly app that enables citizens to easily locate garbage bins in their vicinity. These bins are equipped with advanced sensors and shutters that remain closed, providing a particularly useful feature during rainy seasons and minimizing unpleasant odors.

Crew Aider

A specially designed device was created to assist the elderly who struggle with hand and arm mobility, making it difficult for them to sign documents or hold writing instruments. This innovative tool features a strap fixed to a frame that provides wrist support, enabling individuals to sign or write with greater ease. Ekya learners were behind the development of this assistive technology.

Energy Tracks

A track system was designed for footpaths to harness energy and power street lights. This encourages the elderly to walk and stay fit. Special wheelchairs were also designed to move on these tracks, promoting accessibility. Ekya learners developed this innovative solution.

The E-Pill Reminder

To help the elderly stay on top of their medication schedules, Ekya learners created the E-pill reminder. Drawing from personal experiences, they aimed to simplify the often cumbersome process of managing multiple medications. This innovative device sends reminders to the user’s phone and features blinking lights on the pill box itself, clearly indicating which medication to take.
